Soli-Bond, Inc. was contracted to develop a solid and liquid waste conveyance system to manage the waste stream from an active oil and gas drilling and production facility offshore Long Beach, California.
The team of Soli-Bond engineers and designers encountered many challenges. The primary concern was to build an apparatus that safely transferred the waste and also met the strict environmental policies that were mandatory in this very sensitive offshore environment.
Once this project was designed, approved, constructed and placed at the facility, the focus was training both Soli-Bond Technicians and Thums Operators on the Safety, Health and Environmental Policies, along with process safety management. After a rigorous and thorough training which included written and oral tests. Soli-Bond Technicians and Thums operators were certified to operate the Soli-Bond Waste Conveyance System.
Thums Long Beach Company has used this system continuously for years without any lost time due to accidents or spills that may negatively impact the surrounding environment.
