14 Well Gas Storage Field System

14 Well Gas Storage Field System

PROJECT: 14 WELL GAS STORAGE FIELD SYSTEM

CLIENT: ANR STORAGE, INC.

LOCATION: KALKASKA, MICHIGAN

DESCRIPTION:

Pitless drilling operation in Michigan consisting of solidification processing and disposal of 8,000 cubic yards of salt saturated drilling fluids and semi-solids collected from solids control equipment. This processing was accomplished through use of Soli-Bond, Inc.’s SB-7 processor unit without the use of reserve pits. The use of a conventional pit system was ruled out due to the use of only three drill pads for all of the wells. One pad consisted of (7) seven well heads. Further, this project was located in an extremely environmentally sensitive area of Northern Michigan and conducted during peak tourist season.

The wastes were collected, processed and transported off-site and never allowed to touch the ground. During the project, extreme weather conditions (late fall, early winter) increased the difficulties associated with this type of work. The Soli-Bond system was able to respond to these additional challenges and successfully complete the project without environmental damages or nearby resident or tourist complaints.
